Much of the literature on aging focuses on longevity, or living a longer life. But is that truly our ultimate goal? Perhaps what we really desire is to live a healthier, more fulfilling life for a longer period. This concept is referred to as "Healthgevity," where the years of good health outweigh the years of illness. In my experience working with older adults, I have identified four key elements of Healthgevity: gratitude, breathing, movement, and heart-healthy nutrition. While these elements are not new, when consciously and consistently integrated into our lives, they can lead us on a journey toward better health. I invite you to join me in exploring how we can embrace these four pillars of Healthgevity and create a healthier, balanced life for ourselves.
